Free Advice on writing a Professional CV/Resume

A lot of the time people come to us and do not know exactly the meaning of context when it comes to their CV/Resume and how Context works.

Also with CV/Resumes people tend to use the listings approach.  With listing resumes and job responsibilities for a particular position held, an individual should keep the following in mind:

Turn each listing into a direct action.  For example, for a sales job instead of saying "making outbound calls focusing on residential customer sales, it would read better as "make outbound calls..."  Any listing that starts with "-ing" should be changed to allow for provisioning.
For listings that are about "understanding" that really does not tell a prospective employer much about what you really did.  I will demonstrate with a bad example vs. a good example.  i.e. "Understanding of mobile technology and ability to explain this information to customers in order to secure potential sales" is a bad example.  A better way to write the same listing is "Explain mobile phone technology to customers in order to secure potential sales."  If you could explain it to customers, it shows that you were able to understand it and this gives you a better action listing for this type of action.
Remember that you want to always keep a list as simple and concise as possible.  Whoever is reading it will most likely only scan it quickly before making a decision to act on it or will move it to the "not now" pile.

If your CV/Resume is quick and easy to read, it will give you a better chance of staying in the "act on it" pile.

Free Tips on how to write a Great Cover Letter:

Try and avoid too many "I" statements.  I did this; I did that.  They tend to get people into ruts.

Second, try to vary your sentence structure.  This makes it easier and more interesting for your reader.  Remember: your reader is the most important person to consider when writing anything.

Third, "less is more." In other words, try to say the most interesting things in the shortest, clearest way.  This will keep your reader engaged.

Cover Letters are meant to introduce you in a professional manner of who you are to someone that is in a position to hire you.  It is best to keep Cover Letters polite, professional and short.

Helpful Free Interview Tips:

Be well dressed for the interview, a suit or dress pants...etc depending upon what type of interview you are going for.
